According to USA Today, PBS has renewed Victoria, a series about the British queen, for a second season. The ratings for the series are higher in its first season than another PBS hit, Downton Abbey, which is saying a lot because I really enjoyed Downton Abbey tremendously and am equally excited for another season of Victoria. See story below:
Based on the popularity of these shows, Informed, hosted by Rob Lowe, has begun development on a series for PBS member stations on the history of British royalty. We are excited about this project and look forward to distribution later this year.
In the newest release from the “Informed” series, Rob Lowe takes viewers into the technology behind something we use every day: The Internet. The focus of the program will be on the technology that gives us high speed connectivity. In the 21st century, Americans take internet connectivity for granted since it can be accessed from virtually anywhere, from devices ranging from cell phones to tablets. The team working on this project will meet with computer engineers and scientists, as well as IT specialists to find out what advancements have been made in recent years to internet connectivity.
If you’re old enough to remember the days of sluggish dial-up internet and losing the signal when the phone would ring you appreciate the advanced networks we have today. If you’ve ever wondered how we went from such slow speeds to the lightning fast internet of today then you’ll want to make sure you tune into this latest episode from “Informed” with Rob Lowe.
“Informed”, hosted by actor Rob Lowe, is distributed to PBS Member Stations via Public Television Networks.
Rob Lowe is providing his expertise in the front of the camera as a way to educate the public on the importance of dental health in society’s youth. Dental health that starts at a young age contributes to healthier and happier lives as the young members of society grow.
Dental health for the young extends far beyond simply preventing cavities as oral health also affects the health of the entire body. Children living in low income families have been found to suffer the most from the discomfort and pain that poor oral hygiene can cause. Bad breath, altered taste buds, stained and sensitive teeth, as well as something as serious as oral cancer are all common defects of poor oral hygiene. These defects can be avoided by knowing and executing the proper steps to ensure good oral hygiene. These steps include regular brushing and flossing as well as avoiding things like highly acidic foods and drinks which can strip the teeth of their enamel. Of course, routine visits to the dentist are the most effective way to ensure good hygiene. These issues and the steps to avoid them will be focused on in greater detail in this episode from “Informed”.
Viewers will be able to find the “Informed” series, hosted by Rob Lowe, on Public Television PBS Member stations.

Hosted by veteran actor, Rob Lowe and provided to PBS member stations throughout the country, Informed is creating a series on financial aid. The series will begin airing in early 2018.
Rob Lowe is hosting an interesting and timely show titled “Advancing Women in Business.” According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the percentage of women actively contributing to the workplace is phenomena. Women provide a vital service in society and their contribution to their community and country is oftentimes overlooked, and swept under the floor. Rob Lowe will bring out the importance of women in the workforce, what resources are currently available, and how women who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs can get assistance.
Female business women, especially those in leadership positions increase financial performance, and outperforms their counterparts. According to SC Johnson College of Business, enrollment in MBA degree classes among women have increased by 4% in the previous year, and enrollment is expected to be even higher in the years ahead. Rob Lowe will address the role of women in managerial positions, particularly minority women. Some of the most successful 500 fortune businesses in the world are under the leadership and guidance of women.
Women make their own mark in society. However, with support from community workers, mentors, schools, and family, women can make the transition into power easier, and less strenuous. Many businesses are accepting the professionalism, complexity and diversity women bring to the table. To show their support, many companies are more family friendly, and they welcome women into a world that was once male oriented. Rob Lowe encourages everyone to air their voice, ask questions and make influential suggestions.
